Tee Nuts
Tee nuts are used to join pieces of timber or composite materials together leaving an almost flush finish. They have 4 prongs and an internally threaded barrel. To install tee nuts, drill a hole the size of the barrel in the wood and insert the tee nut. From the other side insert the fastener into the tee nut. As the fastener is tightened the prongs will dig into the timber and pull the tee nut in making it flat against the timber and securely fastened. To ensure a completely flush finish, make a recess in the timber with a flat wood bit the same diameter of the tee nut then the tee nut will sit in the recess.
