What is a First Fix Nail?

First fix nails are large, strong nails used to secure heavy timbers together at the start of a project before you switch to smaller, second fix nails.

Made for wood applications, we stock a range of sizes by Fischer to suit any project.

Also known as

Collated nails, stripped nails or clipped head nails.

Why use First Fix Nails or Collated Nails?

First Fix Nails are perfect for wood-based projects like fencing, landscaping, and structural woodwork. For oak, we recommend stainless steel nails due to oak’s high sap content; stainless steel is highly durable, whereas regular nails can rot over time.

First Fix Nails: How they work

You can use first fix nails with gas-powered or battery-powered nail guns. The nails are collated with a paper strip for smooth discharge from the nail gun, allowing you to work quickly and accurately.
