3. Product: Through Bolts

   Charlotte Downs -

   What is a Through Bolt?

A through bolt is a torque-controlled steel anchor designed for fixing into non-cracked concrete. It consists of a threaded bolt, washer and nut, and is a fast and secure way to anchor heavy loads. They are called through bolts as they pass through the structure being fixed straight into the concrete.

   Also known as

Concrete fixings, rag bolts or ‘knock-in’ anchors.

   Why use Through Bolts?

Through bolts are used in construction projects that require strong anchoring. Use them to bolt down heavy machinery in warehouses, pallet racking or structural elements on building sites. They are ideal for railings, crash barriers and other safety-critical applications, ensuring protection for people in the workplace or at leisure.

   Through Bolts: How they work

Drill a hole of the same diameter as the bolt using an SDS hammer drill. Insert the bolt into the hole, and as you tighten the nut, the cone bolt pulls into the expansion clip, forcing it against the hole wall. This twisting

5. Product: Foundation Bolts

   Charlotte Downs -

   What is a Foundation Bolt?

A foundation bolt is a structural bolt used in construction. It comprises three parts: the foundation bolt, a square washer plate and a waxed cardboard cone.

   Also known as

Square square holding down bolts, construction bolts, or anchor bolts.

Why use Foundation Bolts or Holding Down Bolts?

Foundation bolts are essential for building solid foundations, particularly in steel fabrication and industrial or agricultural building projects.

Unlike drilling, which can put stress on the concrete, foundation bolts are cast into the concrete at the foundation stage, so everything is secure before construction begins.

This way, when your contractors arrive on site, they can immediately start work with the foundations already set.

   Foundation Bolts: How they work

First, you excavate the site, mark out the footing, position the bolts and pour the concrete around them. You then bolt down steel uprights with usually four foundation bolts, creating a template that matches the baseplate.
